Green Project Management (GPM) aim to drive sustainable business change. This is done by balancing the relationship between finite resources and social responsibility to generate sustainable project outcomes as a result of their certification training regimes. Importantly, GPM are the sole international project management professional development organisation that focus only on sustainable business practices.
Sustainability is regarded as crucial to success by 93% of 1000 CEOs, surveyed by Accenture and the UN Global Compact from 103 countries and 27 industries. Hence, the GPM Certification provides businesses with the knowledge required to conduct projects using sustainable methods, whilst also giving them a globally recognised acknowledgment of this. Essentially, GPM are driven to build consciousness to the sustainable initiative, through a network of partnerships across 145 countries. Support of the UN Global Compact’s ten principles also plays a key role in incorporating sustainable project management systems.
In terms of their methodology, PRiSM™ (Projects Integrating Sustainable Methods) is the project delivery process. It involves best practice tools and techniques to deliver sustainable results for projects. Training is completed using the EnVex method. This is an approach developed to be hands-on by combining classical instruction with case studies to apply the learned techniques in real-life circumstances. GPM-b™, GPM®, and GPM-m™ Certifications are managed by the GPMG Accreditation board. The board is separate to training providers and combines the knowledge of a number of auditors with over 20 years’ experience, to preserve a specialised focus on sustainability within projects.
